Carolyn Rider

Carolyn Spillman Rider, 82 years old, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on November 24, 1942, born to Christine and Virgil Spillman, in Liberty, MS. She was a long-time member of Harding Street Baptist Church no Victory Baptist Church.

Carolyn is survived by her 3 daughters, Evelyn Diane Hicks, DeWanna Ann Iffert (Gerald), and Robin Lynn Day (Jeff); 2 sisters, Faye Hughes and Joyce Gray; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby K. Rider; parents, Virgil and Christine Spillman; 2 daughters, Mary Delene Foreman and Vicky Dale Kearly.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will continue at Baker Funeral Home on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 PM, officiated by Bro. George Scruggs. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
