Carolyn Vedros Hybart, a native of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on December 3, 2025 after a brief stay in Hospice care. Formally a resident of Pensacola, FL for 35 years; Carolyn raised her two children, Chris and Michael to be honest and respectful of others with a vibrant Catholic faith. She was highly involved with the American Legion Post 240 for many years alongside her good friend Richard Gulick who was equally generous with his time, both organizing many successful charity events and who called many bingo games in the 1990's. Carolyn cherished her Louisiana heritage, commonly saying phrases in French that her grandparents, who spoke limited English themselves, would say to her. Nothing brought her more pleasure than preparing a giant pot of Crawfish Bisque, made the way her grandmother prepared it; While watching an exciting LSU football game. Geaux Tigers!!
Carolyn is survived by her sons, Christopher Hybart of Zachary, LA and Michael Hybart of Pensacola, FL. Grandchildren; Cori Hybart of Fort Wayne, IN, Jack Hybart of Toledo and Jonathan Hybart of Zachary, LA.
She is preceded in death by parents Percy J and Ida M Vedros; and a sister Petty Ashcraft, good friend Richard Gulick and her high school crush Robby Gonzalez who was the light of her then 17 year old world.
Carolyn will have a private family service at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to American Legion #240, 8666 Gulf Beach Highway, Pensacola, FL 32507 or St. Jospeh Cathedral, 401 Main Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802 or a charity of your choice.
