Anna Marie Ivey Grissom

Anna Marie Ivey Grissom, was born on April 14, 1940 to Josephine and Sidney Ivey in Baton Rouge and passed away peacefully at home on February 27, 2024. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and spent many years helping the community through the Central Food Bank. Her passions included tending to her house plants, reading, watching LSU Sports and denying her secret love of sweets. But, her biggest joy above all, was time with family.

Anna Marie is survived by her two daughters, Donna Lee and Chandra Alford (Greg); grandsons; Shane Firmin (Caitlin), Todd Firmin (Becca), Tyler Alford (Allie), Peyton Alford, and Taylor Alford; step-grandson, Cody Lee (Andrea); great granddaughters, Kennedy, Collins and Millie Kate Firmin, and Olivia Firmin, step-great grandchildren, Parker and Audrey Lee; sister, Janice Jones; Godchild, Trevon Miller (Dori); and niece & nephew, Tasha Jones (Shaun), and Tristan Jones.

Anna was preceded in death by son-in-law, Thomas "Buddy" Lee; husband, Peebles "Pete" Grissom; and parents, Sidney Porter Ivey and Josephine Marchiafava Ivey.

A special thanks to Life Source Hospice nurses, Jennifer, Katie and Martina, and CNA Tamerra for their excellent care and support during this difficult time. We would also like to thank sitters Georgia Fontenot and Libby Robison for their unwavering attention and love during her time of need.

Serving as pallbearers are Shane Firmin, Todd Firmin, Tyler Alford, Peyton Alford, Taylor Alford and Cody Lee.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 10:30 AM, officiated by Fr. Paul Yi. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
