Alton Burley Conerly Jr.
Alton Burley Conerly Jr., 81, resident of Pride, LA, beloved Father, Grandfather and Friend was called to his eternal resting place on September 6, 2024, officially recorded September 7, 2024. He entered this world on July 23, 1943, in Pascagoula, MS, born to Alton Sr. and Oneida Conerly. It is with great respect that we honor Alton for his 61 years of dedicated service to local 198 as a proud second-generation member. His commitment and sacrifice as a United States Air Force veteran will always be remembered.
He was a passionate advocate for exercising your voting rights and participation in every election. Alton was also a dedicated LSU sports fan. He was deeply loved by his family and served them wholeheartedly.
Alton is survived by his three daughters, Tracy Mayfield (Barry), Shannon Schillage (Joey), and Robin Blair (Wade); son, Brett Womack; ten grandchildren, Casey and Danielle Bice, Samantha and Ryan Levatino, Brett Allen Womack (Kaitlyn), Wesley Womack, Trey Paul Conerly, Jami Conerly (Jon Morgan Herrington), Madeline Conerly, and Noah Blair; six great-grandchildren, Riley Beasley, Henli Hebert, Avery Monson, Camille Anne Levatino, Kinsley Nicole Womack, on the way: Amelia Lynn Womack; sisters, Jeanette Loupe and Lucille Martin; and brother, Billy Conerly.
Alton is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Conerly; his parents, Alton Sr. and Oneida Conerly; son Alton "Trey" Conerly, III; and brother, Jimmy Ray Conerly.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral service at 12:00 P.M. officiated by Reverend David Ridenour. Graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.
The family requests attendees to wear LSU attire to the celebration of life service.
