Obituary

Alice Firmin Lemoine, a vibrant soul and devoted matriarch, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 18, 2026. At 78 years old, she passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Zachary, Louisiana.

Alice entered this world on September 21, 1947, born into the loving arms of Etta and Hollis Firmin, Sr., in the town of Cottonport, Louisiana. Her deep and enduring faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Zachary.

To know Alice was to know pure joy, as she was truly the life of every party. With a contagious laugh and a welcoming spirit, she possessed a rare gift for making everyone feel at home. Alice loved nothing more than to dance, cook delicious meals, and open her doors to entertain her family and friends. Her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aromas of home-cooked food, and her living room was forever alive with laughter.

Above all her passions, Alice's heart belonged entirely to her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her ultimate pride and joy. She poured boundless love, wisdom, and affection into their lives, creating a beautiful legacy of warmth that will endure for generations to hear and carry on.

She will be profoundly missed, but her vibrant spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Alice is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Russell "Toto" Lemoine; son, Evans Lemoine (Dana); daughter, Lisa Metcalfe (David); grandchildren, Logan Metcalfe (Courtne), Nathan Lemoine, and Erin Lemoine; 2 great-grandchildren, Daxx Lee and Houston Metcalfe; brothers, Hollis Firmin, Jr. and Randy Firmin (Valerie); sisters, Telsia Porche, Beverly Smith (Clay); and loved by a host of nieces and nephews.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Etta Firmin; son, Russell Lemoine, Jr; and brother, Evans Firmin.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Father Lamar Partin. The interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, in Baker, Louisiana.

A special and heartfelt thank you to Hospice of Baton Rouge, especially her nurses, Jaime and Martina, for the compassionate care, comfort, and support they provided during this difficult time. Your kindness and dedication brought peace not only to our loved one, but also to our entire family, and we are deeply grateful. We would also like to extend a special thank you to her godchild, Christie Turner, for her love, support, and faithful presence throughout this journey.
