Oscar A. Adams,
Age 89, a resident of Baker and native of Bogue Chitto, MS went to be with his heavenly father peacefully at his home Sunday evening, March 27, 2016. O.A. was an Elder of Victory Baptist Church formerly known as Harding Street Baptist Church. He bravely served our country in the US Navy during World War II. O.A. was the business agent for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 582. He was a hard worker and enjoyed sharing his childhood memories with his children and grandchildren.
O.A. is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Frances Blackwell Adams; 3 daughters, Peggy Eastwood, Catherine D'Antoni and husband David, and Angie Moras; grandchildren, Scott and Chris Eastwood, Melissa D'Antoni Syperek and Benjamin Moras; and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his 2 brothers, John Quiency Adams and Edward Earl Adams; 3 sisters, Annie Pearl Moak, Roselle Sterlington and Sue Moak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ones "Doc" and Maddie Smith Adams; 2 brothers, Marvin Adams and Ones "Red" Adams; and 2 sisters, Evelyn Hodges and Donnis Smith.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom RD, Baker, LA 70714, Tuesday, March 29, 2016, from 9:00AM until the funeral service at 12:00PM.
Reverend George Scruggs, Jr., of Victory Baptist Church, will officiate the services.
The interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker LA.
