Gerald James Kimball, a long-time resident of Baker, went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family on August 7, 2017. He was 75 years old, born to Wesley and Geneveive Kimball on November 11, 1941.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Bernice Guilbeau Kimball; two daughters, Karen and husband Ron Herron, Greenwell Springs, and Leslie and husband Ken Fontenot, Central; grandchildren, Ashton and Cassie Herron, Blake and Peyton Crochet; three brothers, Norris, Mark, Charles Kimball; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Geneveive Kimball; and son, Steven James Kimball.

Pallbearers will be Norris, Mark and Charles Kimball, Norris, Earl and Bobby Guilbeau.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Blake and Peyton Crochet.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The visitation will continue at Baker Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until the religious service at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Reverend Glen Miers of Zoar Baptist Church and Reverend Philip Guay of Providence Baptist Church. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.

    I hope when my Thomas sees Mr. Gerald up there in heaven he remembers to say thank you for taking him for his first "real" boat ride in ya'lls pond. My heart is heavy for you,but I know your memories will bring much comfort in the days come.
