“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strengths. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
On April 29, 2017, the gates of Heaven opened wide to receive a “special lady”. Sophie J. Paine was born November 24, 1917 and passed peacefully at Lane Nursing Home surrounded by family. Sophie was a caregiver most of her life to her husband and many children that she kept at her home for working mothers of Edna, Texas. There was always a waiting list of children wanting to become “Paine’s Kids”. She was loved by all.
Left to cherish her memories are her only sister, Hazel Grady; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Paine; and daughters, Betty E. Paine and Alice L. Paine.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in Edna, Texas at Memory Gardens.
The family would like to thank Lane Nursing Home for the compassionate, loving care that “everyone” there extended to our dear angel.
I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family. During this difficult time, God is near to those that are broken at heart, and those who are crushed in spirit He saves. Psalms 34:18
